British artist Robin Jesson (b. 1930) trained as a painter at Chichester School of Art and Bath Academy of Art, Corsham, in the early 1950s. His tutors included William Scott, Terry Frost and Bryan Wynter.
About
Robin is a colourist, and his work is romantic in style. He paints in series and works in oils, watercolour, mixed media and printmaking.
His work relates to people and places with landscape paintings being “in” rather than “of” the landscape and is inspired by travel in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, India and the USA.
Robin lives and works in Norwich, Norfolk, UK.
Exhibitions
In the fifties and sixties Robin exhibited regularly at the A.I.A Gallery in London and subsequently at the Broughton House Gallery in Cambridge. He has jointly curated a number of exhibitions especially when as a Trustee and Chair of the Exhibitions Committee of the Norfolk Contemporary Art Society.
Publications
Robin is the author of two published books: ‘Handbook for Art & Design’ 1984 and second edition 1991 (Longman) and ‘At Corsham’ (Lasse Press) 2017, a personal reflection of life as an art student in a unique Art and Design College in the early 1950s.
His work is in a number of Private Collections in Europe and the USA.
